Sr. Nationals in Toronto Cancelled

The Feb. Sr. Nationals in Toronto is cancelled.  Instead, there will be a 6-day event (Sr., Poomsae and color belt) to be held in Montreal sometime in June, 2012.   I will keep you informed as more information is made available.  A follow-up availability request will be sent out once a date for this event is confirmed.

Additionally, (International Referees only) there will be a Canada Open to be held in Toronto from May 9th to the 14th.  It will cover Poomsae, Paralympics and Kyrougi.  Barbara Marian will likely be the International Referee Liaison for this event.  If any foreign IRs interested in attending this event, please inform them to drop Barbara a line indicating whether they are Poomsae IR, Kyrougi or both.  Barb will compile the IR list and we shall do process the formal invitations in late February. This event will be PATU and WTF sanctioned.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly by email or phone.

2011 Universiade Games Update

Shenzhen, China.

Congratulations to our very own, Kevin Hatt, who fought Hungary, Monday morning at around 12:40am our time and lost the match 9-3.  The Hungarian went on to narrowly miss the gold medal match by losing 6-6 by superiority, resulting in him getting a bronze.

We have heard that Nova Scotia’s other athlete, Jeremy Reeve lost his first match to Costa Rica, however we are awaiting an update from him, and know that his spirits are high and we are all very proud of both athletes and look forward to hearing about their experiences when they return home.
